At SchoolScreener, our whole existence supports child health, not just in the UK, but around the world. We couldn’t sit idly by as Ukraine is invaded by a hostile Russian army.
What you may not realise is that three of our team hail from neighbouring countries to Ukraine, so it’s personal for us, too. Marta’s from Hungary; Iveta’s from Slovakia and Lana’s from Moldova.
We can’t stop the Russians. We’re certainly not going to send weapons to worsen the conflict. We can do our best to help the innocent ones caught up in all of this, the children.
We chose the UNICEF Ukraine appeal because it’s about child health in that country, primarily. On top of that they’re working with UNHCR to support refugee families from the conflict that escape to neighbouring countries.
Whatever we raise from the generosity of our customers, friends and staff will be matched by our company, Thomson Screening. Donate now through our JustGiving page.
UNICEF in Ukraine
Conflict is escalating in Ukraine, putting millions of children and their families in immediate danger.
More than half a million children in Ukraine are already affected as the conflict in the east of the country enters its eighth year. Homes, schools, water supplies and hospitals are damaged. Landmines pose a major threat to children’s lives.
UNICEF is especially concerned for the safety and wellbeing of children who have become separated from their families.
UNICEF has been working around the clock to keep children safe since this conflict began, eight years ago. They’re helping to make sure that child health and protection services are sustained, and that families have access to clean water and nutritious food. Now their efforts have expanded across the whole of Ukraine and to families forced to flee to neighbouring countries.
Please donate to help protect Ukrainian children.
